Tipping

What do YOU tip your mailman?

"United States Postal Service employees are prohibited from accepting cash and discouraged from accepting gifts with a value of more than $20."

I was just going to throw some cash in a card and hand it to him. He brings so many deliveries to the door every week.

What would YOU do?

I worked for a company that had given the mailman $100 at Christmas. It was his way of thanking her, for getting us all of our mail in a timely manner.

Here, not only does the mailman want something, but also the garbage collectors and anyone else that we deal with, on an almost daily basis. Christmasgeld is counted on by many, to help get them through the holidays. In my opinion, these are the same people who work for the state or government and are some of the few who still receive this Christmasgeld. I, on the other hand, get nothing, from either one of my jobs...and therefore, am hardpressed to hand out money that I do not have.

However, your mailman, does deliver lots of packages to you...and he seems to know who you are. Afterall, you did get my box, even though, Edi's handwriting was a little difficult to read. My suggestion, is stuffing a $20 inside a Christmas card. You will stay within their rules and still be making your mailman happy.

It says no cash though.
That's what I'd like to give though.

What we do here and every other property that I worked at, is buy a little gift card, since they cant take cash (so stupid same thing)of $25.00. Our mail lady here gets a $50.00 publix card. she takes good care of us.

I have never tipped mine, but I know Brandon always puts a $10 in a holiday card and gives it to our mailman at work.

I think I'll probably just put some money in a card and give it to him that way. He brings stuff to our door all the time.
