The other day we finally went out to buy a Christmas tree. This place is nothing at all like the east coast. Back home, there are tree lots set up everywhere. Here, there are two. Even though Christmas is a week away, the Christmas candies and decorations are on sale...so not much is available at the moment. I remember that none of that stuff was on sale until AFTER Christmas.
What's going on here. We speed right through the holidays. People need to take time and enjoy life!
OK, so you mentioned Chanukah cards...we don't have those either, nor do we have Kwanza cards. In fact, people still say Merry Christmas here and no one is offended. In some ways it is nice, because I never like grouping all the holidays together with a Happy Holidays wish. Each holiday is unique and should be treated as such and of course given proper respect.
So, to all who read this...Happy Chanukah! Merry Christmas!
