I had my ultrasound on Thursday and we're having a girl!

She is 10oz and is developing about one week ahead of time. They've changed our due date from August 20th to August 14th. I am definately ok with this, the sooner the better!

Her name will be Alice, in case you wanted to start addressing my stomach by name :)

Our baby was 10oz and a girl at the last ultrasound. The ultrasounder told is that she was 99% sure of the sex.

When our "ultrasounder" told us we were having a girl she pointed at these three dark lines that appeared on the screen. I have no idea (and neither does rick) what she said they were. She didn't tell us how certain she was, but there was 99% certainty in her voice. That could be me just reading into her thick Russian accent though, i'm not entirely sure.

I haven't told you guys yet, but I think its GREAT that you are having a baby at the same time as us!

Do they give you ultrasound pictures at your place? We get little pictures that don't really look like a baby.

Aww! What a cute name!

And two stories:

1) The doctor swore I was going to be a girl by the ultrasound (granted this was 1978) so my parents planned for a girl named Jennifer. But they got a boy named Jonathan. Truth!

and

2) Alice from the song 'Alice's Restaurant' is now a photographer living in Provincetown. Two summers ago, we were out walking the same time she was walking her dog (we knew who she was, but she didn't know us) and we walked a block with her. That might only be interesting to me!

1)I hope it really is a girl! I have my heart set on it now. The funny thing is that she had her sweet little knees together during the ultrasound, so I was surprised that she made the call. But she seemed certain that it was a girl.

PS I'm glad you are a jonathan, but i'm sure we would have all loved you as a jennifer as well!

2)I think that is a great story. It will be what you think of when you think of our Alice.
