thinkpositive30: day 2

1. It's Friday! Which means it's the weekend. Which means that I can sleep late tomorrow.

2. I only have three more days of work before I get on a plane to go see scarletts_awry3. I have clean laundry. I do not have laundry that has been hung up or folded and put away, but one thing at a time. Cleanliness is the most important bit; everything else is gravy ( Read more... )

I definitely agree that laundry being clean is the most important bit. When I make my list of things-to-do I always have a different item for putting the laundry away, distinct from actually doing the laundry. They are very much separate jobs. Doing the laundry really isn't a big job (for me, since I have my own washing machine in the kitchen) but I somehow anyway keep putting it off and putting it off. I always feel good about myself once I do it, as if I have achieved a great task.

Oh yes, I definitely agree that doing the laundry and putting the laundry away are separate jobs! I always list them out as different tasks, too. Which is good, because I'm woefully bad at actually putting it away. I think my brain figures that, hey, as long as everything is clean, nothing wrong with digging through a pile on the couch to find the shirt I want to wear. (I, um, may or may not have the same approach to dishwashing. *cough*)

I'm glad that my building has a laundry room so that I only have to go downstairs to do it, but it was very unpleasant in the pouring rain last night. Oh, and I'm so hoping that the next apartment has space for a washer/dryer hook-up. scarletts_awry already has a set if it does, so we would be all set then.

And yes, I always feel like I've accomplished a great task after I've finished the laundry, too! And very proud of myself.
