i thought i had it all,
when in reality i've had nothing all along.
i'm beginning to see that now,
and it's not that appealing.
you never realize how good you have it
until it's all taken away...
but it was never THAT good.
wasn't good enough to make me stay.

wrote this back in high school. i no longer have my notebook with my poetry in it, and this is the only one i had memorized. wish i could remember the others :(

your arms around me, your lips about to touch mine.
then i wake up, and realize it's just a dream.
but this feels so real, like it's meant to be.
