For many a long year have we been idle

As they came in droves to rape and kill,

Our mother wept such bitter tears,

Watching, as they quaffed their fill.

Unheard, our pleading cries hung on the air,

Thickened with particles of each heart,

Just their piercing screams tormenting us

As they viciously rent our bodies apart.

The language you use to describe these horrible scenes is so beautiful; that incongruity is something I really enjoy, and it definitely helps to hammer home the ideas you're putting across. This was really well-done!

Absolutely beautiful! I thought of this too. It's so sad what humans are doing to the world.

I especially loved this phrase: "Thickened with particles" as it seemed to echo of particle board. Very clever!

Really beautifully written - I especially loved the line As the susurrous night wind chillingly soughs. I also love the call for strength to the ancestors to snuff out that disastrous virus that is humanity.....
