Happy New Year to you, too! It's great to have an update and all the story strands are beautifully worked out, as usual. The helium-filled shark was a lovely reminder of 'Shark Week' and just the sort of annoy-others toy to appeal to House.

I saw that toy advertised and had to use it. It seemed like exactly the kind of thing Kutner, or April, would get House.

Canon Cuddy doesn't have many friends, and I've never seen her confide in a woman. Kristen had to be sensible and reasonable enough to be her assistant, and different enough from House/Cuddy/Wilson to give an outside perspective.

Thanks for the comment.

Wonderfully entertaining as always. Cuddy's assessment of Wilson is spot on; it really is a compliment that he's making this decision. However, how and if he deals with it, that it is a whole other issue.

I have to admit, at first mention, I thought the flying shark was going to be a metaphor. Cue my surprise and delight at it being a, literal, flying shark, lol. Very cute. And along that 'cute' train of thought, your Rachel continues to be a treat to read. She's a great mix of being a regular kid AND a kid raised by House and Cuddy; not too far on either side, but just enough with things like her vocabulary and hobbies that it really paints a fuller picture of how her parents have influenced her.

Thanks for the update, and Happy New Year.

Rachel is interesting now that she's not a toddler, and House is a little more observant than Cuddy about her individual quirks and issues. Cuddy worries about her more, but I think House gets her better. Individually, either one of them would have trouble meeting her needs, but together, they make decent parenting partners.

Wilson, on the other hand...

Love Blessings.

Do you think House taught Rachel how to knit?,LOL.

Possibly the best line in all of shark verse....April and Fizzou are quietly hating each other the way only married people are supposed to..

Loved Cuddy's recognition/remembering of almost letting her heart go.

Glad Cuddy is getting some;)))

I have a backstory on how Rachel learned to knit (a couple of them, actually) but probably won't include that in this story -- it wasn't House, or Arlene.

Everyone is on edge with the move, and April and Fizzou are, the way people under stress do, taking it on on each other just a wee bit. It's nothing serious, but House is perceptive enough to have noticed it and commented on it to Cuddy.

Thanks for reviewing.

Welcome back, and welcome home Cuddy!
I don't doubt for a moment that Rachel's better emotionally adjusted than the entire rest of her 'family' (with the assumptive exception of Kristen). And it's telling it was House who told her about sharing her 'thinks' (continuity, how I love it! And the single sock stealing too).

I'm starting to wonder if they'll end up in Baltimore after all. These moments of everyone acting out could just be jitters I guess; but PPTH would have to come crawling back to Cuddy I think, and she really did seem invested in helping Chan. Cuddy must like Kristen though, since she remembers her name now. LOL I wonder if Wilson's baby mama is willing to move?
Count me in as someone who just assumed the flying shark was a metaphorical shout out, equivalent to the elephant in the room. Now I'll have to look up the real toy online...
Have a great weekend!

Thanks!

Rachel's got her issues, but despite the pressure of being Cuddy's kid and the exposure to House's brutal honesty, she's going to be okay, I think, in this 'verse. Of all my characters, she's, ironically, the only person who's supposed to be childish and self-centered, and she suffers for it the least. Kristen isn't perfect -- I'll go into that in a bit -- but she's not damaged like House/Cuddy/Wilson, she's just got "normal" flaws.

I appreciate the comment --
