I love the juxtaposition of couples, and the things the neighbors say. I'm afraid I'm too dim to follow what you were trying to say about House and Dominika though. It's been a long day.

Dominika at least knows how to make it look like she can take good care of Wilson's House; she just doesn't plan on doing so. Wilson (the other part of the "couple" the neighbor in apt C is referring to) actually does make him breakfast, carry his laundry, etc.

Cuddy, otoh, didn't impress anyone with her House-nurturing skills. Wilson, I think, would still be a little pissed about that, even if he didn't quite understand why.

I got lost at the end, when House tells Wilson he's doing this because he likes Dominika. But like I said, it's been a long day, in a very long month, and I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box at the best of times.

I just read through some of the other notes. Personally I thought you did everything just right. The neighbors were responding to what little they saw, and did so in the way I would in RL.

It's unsettling how Cuddy has become such a divisive character in this fandom.

Yeah, she's definitely a lightning rod. I think those of us who write or ship Huddy reconcile that by focusing on the way she was written in earlier (pre season-6) episodes.

The hell of that is, season 7 made NO ONE -- not the Cuddy fans, not the Cuddy detractors -- happy. The season was a big fat disappointment for the former and an unending ordeal for the latter. And the finale took it step further by making House (the character) deplorable. I can't bring myself to really delve into writing season 8, unless, as in this little piece, it's something that glosses over the canon fiascoes.

Wow, not pulling any punches with this one, were you? Laughed my ass off at the neighbors' approval of House's New Thang, aka Wilson, and their mistaking Cuddy for a call girl.

Who, me? Pull punches?

House always seemed to be more the "friends with benefits" type than the "happily ever after" type Wilson was looking for. And he does have, exactly one friend.

The neighbours thinking the immigration officer was asking about House and Wilson - priceless!

He said "couple", and they are that.

This was amazing. I was in awe over the way you were able to write Greene and the neighbors talking at cross-purposes.

Hope you don't mind, but as a Hilson I was surprised by your portrayal of Cuddy. She does resemble the S7 incarnation, but the S1-4 was made of softer stuff, and that's how I think of her. Guess, I'm delusional? However, Wilson slamming the door in her face was... good entertainment. ;-)

*sigh* so much to love about your fic. *mems*

No, you aren't delusional at all, I think. I tend to write a season 2-4 Cuddy, and enjoy her tremendously. Season 6 Cuddy is mostly an object of pity for me and I cannot stand season 7 Cuddy, though, and am generally at a loss as to what House or Wilson saw in her. This was my take on what a season 8 perspective of her later incarnation might be.
