I have an unusual view on trip and event pictures.  I think they're boring.  Wedding albums?  Boring.  Sight-seeing booklets?  Boring.  If you weren't there, it's probably boring.

There are several very large fires burning across Alaska right now.  The air has been filled with white smoke, and today it's gotten thick enough to leave an ash residue and make my eyes burn a little.

Also, something nommed on a bunch of my mother's flowers last night.  Something very large.  With hooves.

I just got back from Deadhorse, Alaska.  It's a town built on the Arctic Ocean for the oil companies looking to drill in that area.  The town is entirely utilitarian: no frills, few luxuries, and lots of men in Carharts.  The attention the oil companies pay to the environment is phenomenal, as well ( Read more... )

So... new boffer mace of epicness gets retired after about a week of service.  A mistimed swing cost Karl his glasses (and a few brain cells), so it's an easy call.  Safety > coolness.

Future weapons will be much smaller.

Just got the internet back today.  Life is good.  After a week without it, I was starting to get the jitters.

I just finished moving for the third time in a year.  Do I qualify as a nomad yet?

Also, my Monday gaming group just showed their awesomeness.  Party politics just got really interesting, in a potentially deadly way.  Muahahaha.  Hahaha.

I'm proud to say that I've never called in sick except when I was actually sick.  That said, sometimes it's necessary.

Woke up this morning with a wicked sore throat, continued from last night.  I think I'm gonna call in sick today.
