So, my 6-month raise has kicked in at last. Cool, right? Well, in a suspiciously convenient coincidence, my 401(k) plan also takes effect after six months of employment. So, between retirement deductions and taxes, the total amount of increase between my last paycheck and this one is...

So, I heard on the news yesterday morning that the Library of Congress is adding Nirvana's Nevermind to its collection of recordings. This is the ONLY musical recording from the 1990s in the Library--the entire decade will be reduced to a single album. Now, I know next to nothing about Nirvana, but I do concede that they are recognized as THE voice ( Read more... )
