today was the day i understood pretty much everything my spanish teacher said....it's the most i've understood her say in one day.

i'm proud of that.

one of my new favourite songs is johanna newsom's this side of the blue.  it's wonderful.

i just saw frances moore lappe speak, to an enormous crowd, here at the college.  she has authored many very wonderful books, like living democracy and hope's edge and diet for a small planet.  she spoke mainly about what democracy is...not an idea or theory, but rather a string of actions...we are changing democracy by what we do in our lives ( Read more... )
