Alarm Clock

My alarm clock pipes up with Radio 4 whenever it is time for me to wake up. This morning I was greeted with the words "... Senator Obama said in his victory speech ...". What nice words to start the day with, I thought.

Metaphors involving eggs, chickens and enumeration spring to mind, but today feels like a good day.

Mmm, yes. :) Here's hoping he lives up to ..well, anything. I'm afraid he'll do a Tony Blair.

Salt and pepper day, though - Prop 8 is being counting and it looks to be passed. :( I could actually cry.

There is a sense of relief that this president can actually speak! The fact that it's English is a bit of a bonus!

I'm looking forward to his starting the job in Jan 09, then we'll really get a feel for the sort of changes he'll implement. Well at least he's not Bush! ;)
