I am  bit shocked at just how happy the recent rain made me feel.  After a dry summer, I now feel like I can breath again.  The little green growing things appear ecstatic in their relief, and the little chirping flying things are dancing in the sky and in the puddles.

The moment I hit the button to post that last entry my phone rang.  Bridget, one of my favorite people who I sadly haven't been able to see since she moved away  two months ago is in town for the week and wants me to come to the bar tomorrow night!

Hooray for Bridget!  Hooray for third chances!

What is it in a cat that when encountering a tree their first thought is to climb it?

Ancestral memory, perhaps: dim impressions of a leopard dragging a kill into the branches, or waiting there to pounce - instinct.

Which might explain why when I see (or smell, or hear the voice of) certain women, I just want to climb them.
