Satan's Favorite Book

According to most Catholics, anything that steers you away from their God is the work of Satan, right? "Oh, you like rock music and you don't go to church anymore. Rock music is the work of Satan." Well, what about the people who go away from Christ due to the contradictions in the Bible? Does that mean the Bible was written by Satan?

The Bible was written by mortals. Mortals are hypocritical and do not agree with others all the time. It isn't Satan's book so much as the misunderstanding and misinterpretation of intent that makes the book into a tool of evil.

Huh, I don't know if I agree with the Lord of Flies' taste in books. The bible is fragmented, contradictory and has the happy coincidence of containing several phrases OUT OF A FEW THOUSAND PAGES that make sense. I personally prefer the novel fight club, trainspotting, arcanum and good omens.

As for relevancy(besides the pope's death) there really isn't any. You need new material, I'd tell you mine but I'd rather not for fear of it being stolen in a public forum. Oh I finished my comic's first issue, if you wouldn't mind I think it could benefit from your opinion.

Not really sure what you mean by "You need new material." I wasn't trying to be funny or political; I was merely stating a random thought.

Those aren't Catholics saying "Rock music is the work of Satan." :P Do some research first. Catholics get such a bad rap. There are way more conservative sects of Christianity. Catholicism is just well-known. Try picking on Fundamendalists or something ( ... )

P.P.S.

I'm not trying to shove "OMGZ LOVE GOD" propaganda everywhere. I am merely defending Catholicism from inaccurate attacks. Catholicism can be a very good thing for some people (or the cause of, you know, bloody crusades). But the point is: If you're going to criticize religion, do it skillfully. I am not a fan of religion at ALL, believe me. I think most of it is pretty silly. But I can understand why people believe in the things they do, and that's nice, as long as they don't go crazygonuts and try converting everyone and/or kill people.

You should focus more on how obsolete Christianity is, especially Catholicism. ^^ Esp. when it comes to traditions, rituals, etc.

Catholicism must differ where you are. Over here it's like a cult. There's a church called "Harvest". If that doesn't tell show my point, I don't know what would.
