my mother likes to make me feel guilty about not coming home but shes driven me away so many times that It's pointless for me to show any positive feelings towards her on the subject, as much as I love and care for her, I enjoy my own life and making my own decisions that don't apply to her.

Parents like to provide you experiences that can benefit you in some way, lots of families, like yours it sounds like, like to stick together and do alot of things together. sure it's not your friends, but you wont be around your parents forever.
