Gah! what an ordeal. I love me some snow, but yeah, that isn't my idea of fun (not to mention I think my back would be done for good on a ride like that)

Back to regular rain now. Stay warm!

Yes, it is quite an ordeal getting in there...and my in laws live out there full time, and there is grand daughter who has to get into school every day. Before they lived there full time we used to have to snowmobile in, which was kind of a pain, but we had the place to ourselves and NEVER saw anyone else. Now that the road is kept plowed (or at least accessible) the snowmobiler's, ATV'ers and 4X4'ers have found their way out there. The 4X4'ers ruining the trails are one of the reasons we had a hard time on Sat ( ... )

Oh HONEY! that sucks so bad!! I'm so sorry. It's the reason I'm not allowed to do stuff like that anymore, no skiing either. A regular fall could basically put me out of commission forever. Dang.

If you can, ice and heat. ice and heat.. You might see more relief that way (and yes, I know the ice sux... but it helps bring down swelling).

Hahahaha, ok, I'm warned, I will not google peter-heater.

All that driving in snow and slush would be really stressful for me, too, but I'm glad the kids liked it. :)

And yeah, once Desie ran into the woods by my house and brought back a deer leg. Haaa. MY PRECIOUS.

I am WAAAY nervous on the highway. I've been in too many accidents and every on-coming vehicle I'm convinced is going to slide into us. I am a lot more comfortable on the Forest roads, even if there is a lot of snow.

If there had been any meat on that deer leg I might have been tempted to let him eat it, but it was all gone, and since he was afraid I was going to take it from him, he was trying to eat it as fast as he could.

I'm going to skip over the snow part because I believe we have all survived that and now it's time to build an Ark. But a few other things. Yippee that you're going to be in Albany. Me too. And a book recommendation: The Cruelest Miles which is about the serum run to Nome. True story, harrowing. And finally, I'm so sorry you're wounded. It sounds very painful. I hope it gets better very soon!

Can't wait for Albany!

"The Cruelest Miles"... READ IT!! LOVED IT!! And you're right - harrowing. I absolutely couldn't imagine watching my child(ren) get sick and die like that. And the toughness of the men and dogs, and the relationship between them is amazing. Two things I took from that book that had nothing to do with the serum run, one was the description of the fur "clothing" the natives wore and how they were made and maintained them, and the second was how old some of those sled dogs lived and how long they continued to work.
