Trial Results

We had a great weekend at the K9 Sports trial in Salem last weekend. I got to see lots of people, introduce myself to Yeehaneeha, got to see a lot of good dogs run on some fun courses, and did lots of course building - which I'm still a little sore from - and had a really good time. Running agility was a great way to spend Mother's Day ( Read more... )

Wick looks really good! and you do too. I like reading that you're seeing more and more good connection with him because it gives me hope for my little wandering eye dog!
That fancy standard run looked really smooth. Great job!

Thanks! I am seeing some improvement, but I still don't trust Wicket AT ALL. Especially those big, fast, barky dogs...so much temptation. I can hardly even watch videos of dogs running on courses that are only separated by a single strand of flagging without my insides getting all weird, let alone think of entering a trial where the rings are set up like that. It makes me sad. I do see that as Wicket starts to get tired he is more likely to start focusing in other dogs. I think the set up at Salem was REALLY helpful in that we entered almost every class at the far end of the arena, and with the equipment trailer parked where it was I was able to hide out behind the trailer right up until it was time to enter the ring.

It was great to meet you! Come hang out at the score table with us! That's usually where mom and I are ha ha :) Wicket reminds me of Dodge, so fun that they are all related :D Zipper only got a Master Snooker, we were having connection issues as well. I had issues focusing. Thank goodness we didn't have to listen to the Mexican rodeo for too long. Thanks for your help!

I had forgotten about the Mexican music! Thank goodness that was only in Sunday. It was great to meter you and we will have to do Pairs relay together. We could be Dodge the Wicket, or something :)
I saw a few if your runs and they all looked good. It's funny how you can feel so "disconnected" with your dog, or just in general. I had one run that I thought was disastrous and was kind of embarrassed by it, but when I watched the video it wasn't nearly as horrible as I thought.

Beep only got one Q too, so don't feel bad:)

I've been trying to annoy Poppet a bit to get a bit more speed out of her and it's working. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for helping the trial be successful! Yahoo!

One Q has been my "normal" for about the last 4 or 5 trials :). I'm okay with that, really, since often my most favorite runs are the runs where there was just a little bobble or bar.

I'll have to work on annoying Wick. That could be fun :)
