Jett Goes Swimming

Jan 20, 2015 14:15

Monday was MLK day and the boys didn't have school. I loaded them and the dogs up and went to visit my dad who lives in Oakridge on Hills Creek Reservoir.

(He lives on the left arm of the reservoir)

Go Jett go! Beep had a similar first swimming experience. Ran down a hill, fell into a lake, started swimming. We had to swim out to bring him when we were all ready to get out! Glad that she's ok :)

She is pretty hardcore. I think Wicket only has a few more months of having the upper hand. Once this girl gets her adult teeth and a little more maturity Wick is going to be in trouble. Jett backs down from nothing. So far the only thing she doesn't like is Wick barking. Go figure. Wick Barks very little, just alarm barking if someone comes to the house, but it usually sends her scurrying for a hiding place. However, once she understands what he is barking at she comes right out. She was not phased by fireworks over new year's, or the boys running around shooting Nerf guns (in fact, she chas s them down to grab the Nerf bullets), she is not bothered by the kids running around yelling. She is not fond of the vacuum - neither is wick - so they follow me room to room and just lie down where they can keep an eye on it.

We have MAJOR vacuum wars in our house. The Aussies don't mind it at all, but they try hard to stay out of the way. The BCs are much more to manage. I can talk Fred into leaving it alone, but only if he's got a ball to toss around while I do my work. Hi-Fi?? boy, I gotta have him out of the room, or even the HOUSE because he's nuts about it, even if it's not turned on! So weird.

Hey, Maybe if Wick barked more she'd chill about it. Want Razor for a week??

Haha my other dogs usually get on the couch and stare at me very unimpressed. Fleet now gets in the way of vacuuming (damn the preemptive 'vacuums are cool' cookie lesson).

<3 good girlie! You describe her a lot like how I see fleet. Especially with the wtf moment and then coming to a sound conclusion. The mental image of that made me laugh. Fleet would have that same look.
Love these pups and the awesome recovery rate. They're already fantastic but adulthood will be so fun. Thanks for being so great to jett.

You've described Fleet and Jett as being two peas in a pod and I believe it. Is Fleet a talker? Jett has these "roo roo aroooo" type vocalizations she makes with a wide yawn that are pretty adorable.

That's Khys kind of talking- woos and Roos and yodels. I've heard khy actually bark now maybe Maybe 10 times in 2.5 years. I wish fleet and jett were twinsies in that too.
Fleet got dads barking. So she just barks instead. At 200 decibels. Repeatedly. At whoever she's demanding something of.
Unless I leave her in a kennel (in the house only, the car is fine), then I get the full screamer Beamer effect.

Hahah, YES. *This* with the kennel! The veh is fine, her nighttime crate is fine (now :)), but crate her in the house for any other reason, OR, OMG! crate her at the barn and she is in a full throttle scream.

What a fun day. All except that near drowning experience. I'm glad you have a brave and resilient little girl. Can't wait to meet her.
