People go "Oh how could Rey possibly know how to fight with a saber so quickly?"

Seriously? Did they not see her staff-wielding earlier in the film, and using one of those effectively is more difficult than a single ended weapon!

Her staff looks like a remarkably heavy weapon, even if it is hollow-cored.

The bulk of a lightsaber has no mass...

Personally, I think she'd dispense all manner of whoop-ass with Darth Maul's doublesaber - or Exar Kun's.

Bastila Shan reincarnate?

The very fact that a lightsaber has all the weight in the hilt and none in the blade is what is meant to make it a difficult weapon to wield, but I'm sure anyone with sufficient skills (i.e. Reys) should have no trouble adapting.

Finn doesn't do too badly with it the first time, but if Kylo Ren hadn't been toying with him, he'd have died on Starkiller Base.

Vader had a specific purpose for not killing Luke at Bespin; Ren was just a cat playing with a mouse before dinner until Rey took up the blade.
