so I was on my way to fail another math test, when, half way there, some nerve blew in my brain and I promptly suffered an extreme racking of doubt and guilt: i dont even know why I'm doing this shit. I dont want a job, a career, money, a home, a mortgage, or whatever else comes with a college education. All i'm doing is wasting 4 years of my life ( Read more... )

is that chris giles? you two are cute. one thing i like about community college, not only is it thousands of dollars less than a university, i am in a class of 20-30 mostly adults who are there because they want to learn something on their own with the help of a laid back, understanding professor. no student youth groups hassling you for donations, no frat boys looking for meat, just people who are searching for self education. i think after the winter term, i am going to take advantage of my student status and use student programs to travel the world. once i weasel my way into another country, i will just finish my education there. it may be something for you to consider also. you don't have to settle for the american education (which is barely an education at all), or the american view of being a productive and efficient machine.

community college would certainly free up a lot of money for my family, and me, too. Ive certainly thought about it, but never given it any serious consideration. After this semester, I'll have almost half of my core credits down(that is, if I pass everything), so perhaps community college would be a better bet. And speaking of college, I have already been hassled by about 3 Christian groups, and most of the kids on my hall think I'm gay, and are annoying idiots who give me mean looks. But dammit, I'm still going to play Into the Groove as loudly as I want.
