I know that's not me, though I think I may have referred to the color of his eyes as chocolate brown once... or was it bark-brown? ~is confused and wanders off to recheck Mission's Gift~

No, it wasn't you. And really, everybody uses it to describe Iruka. That's fine by me. But using it every 1,100 words in one story is kinda excessive. Normally, I wouldn't even mention it, but the rest of his/her writing is SO GOOD. Every time I read "chocolate" after they use it once, I think "you're better than this, c'mon." They could branch out to texture, or scent, or expression and not rely on color if they need a modifier for his hair and eyes.

Oh... ~was a little scared there~

Well, I try to use different adjectives.

Personally? The one that gets me is "sable".

I had to look it up, because I kept imagining Iruka's head covered in sharp blades. And wincing at the thought of Kakashi running his fingers through it. (...OW.)

I don't think a specific adjective is worng, per se, it's just the constant, unrelenting repetition, ne? XD At least that's what grates my nerves.

Yeah. It was totally the repetition. For me, chocolate becomes more of a food and less of a color the more times you say it.
