How to ruin Piper's good day.

Mar 05, 2009 21:43

*Piper is stomping around in his apartment, ranting to his rats*

Fuck...

Stupid little piece of shit kid... Why'd I let myself be pushed like that?

Just when you think you've got it licked, some stupid little obnoxious punk comes along and shows you how little you've gone.

Maybe that's his purpose in life.

He'll never be Trickster, never. ( Read more... )

Trickster (the one and only) is standing on the air outside of Piper´s window.
He knows that the Rogues (and the rest of the world) only know him as "brash, insensitive and careless", but deep down he does care.
As the fantastic conman that he is he knows exactly how far he can push his friends and what crosses the line.
His one side is the smirking Trickster, one is just a man who knows his friends.
And his best friend needs him now.
It´s true - he hates that punk. He loathes him with every fiber of his heart, but he can take it.
Piper is tough as nails, but the man has already had to deal with stuff Trickster fears to know.

Hesitantly he knocks, not knowing if Piper has already heard him or if the sonic sultan is too distrressed to notice him.

He hides the little box wrapped with bright paper behind the folds of his cape.
"Piper? Can we talk?"

Sudden silence.

Oh great.. it's James...

Piper brushes his fingers through his hair and sighs, breathing to try to calm himself, regain his composure, get himself back under control.

When he opens the window, he is still flushed and his breathing is still a bit rough but he's got it under control - mostly.

"Tricks?"

"Hi"
The "i" is stretched unbelievingly long, because all the things JJ planned to say sorta blew away when he does face Piper for real.
"Without wanting to sound cliché-like....but how are you? I mean, how are you really?"
He hovers outside of the apartment, not sure if coming inside would be such a good idea.
He wishes he could do something for Piper, but his best idea until now is beating up the little snot, but he has been thinking about that anway.

Piper sighs and steps back "C'mon in."

He goes to his fridge and pulls out a couple of wheat ales, passing one to James.

After a few minutes he realises he hasn't answered James. "I'm fine." ....yeahhhhhh right, he knows James, James would not be asking like that if it weren't blindingly obvious that he is not fine. He takes a long pull off his ale and admits, "I lost it on the kid and I feel like an idiot. I shouldn't have let him push me like that."
