The dessert bar is only a few doors down from Piper's apartment. It's furnished with old style furniture (early 1900s - 1920s, not 1970s...) and plays soft jazz music. Fourth Wall: Library
Piper is at the library. His web searches yielded surprisingly little information - one tended to fall off the radar after a certain age. Oh there was plenty on him, but it was the same stuff over and over, and not what Piper wanted to know.
