(OOC: Continuing from
this post, after
this phone call.)
Piper put the phone back down, thoughtful.
"Now there's coincidence," he sighed, "What were we just talking about, with evil stepmothers, apples and weird stuff out to get us?"
He glances at James, troubled, "How much of that did you hear?"

JJ glances up. During Piper´s phonecall he had been playing with the rats and then walked on his hands through the apartment.
He shouldn´t eavesdrop on Piper´s personal conversations.
OK, he has heard stuff, but it doesn´t make any sense.
"And about evil step-mothers....remember your first costume? And now tell me it wasn´t inspired by your famous namesake."
He arches one eyebrow (one skill he´s insanely proud of).
"You were pointy shoes."

He grins then rolls over on the couch and flops the back of his hand over his forehead dramatically, "You mean you, James Jesse, the Trickster, actually did not evesdrop on my conversation?! Oh my god the world's gonna end, Hell's gonna break loose, demons really are walking the planet, Digger's ex really is after me, he really can negate my powers leaving me defenseless and unable to fight back, and Axel really does have a weird cat. Damn, dude!"

The part where Piper mentions that he can disable his shoes makes him uncomfortable. It means that Piper can stop him when JJ goes nuts....or when Piper goes nuts. Both options don´t sound good to JJ.
But he wouldn´t be the Trickster if he hadn´t a few tricks up his sleeve....including a few that can keep him up in the air if he needs to.
But what Piper says after that.....if Piper thought that he can´t spot gallows humor, he´s wrong.
So something is up...and Piper knows it.

You got it - good. Piper thinks, seeing JJ's eyes.
