october? good god. it seems idiotic to call for applications this early and then not do anything with them for months.

those of you applying for those academic library jobs might find this funny:

that's a hoot. Although I've always thought that one could create a musical based off of library school education, with the Act I closer being a interpretive tableux of Ranganathan's theories of library science. But if they're already doing that for interviews, well.

The application wasn't due until September. it's just kind of an out there job, which I still wouldn't mind getting. Plus, it's an associate professorship, so I imagine they'll have to go through various committees. Maybe I should work on the Ranganathan thing, come to think of it...

I thought my eyes deceived me when I read October (!) You're joking, right?

So you might be moving at the end of the month? How unsettled for you.

Nope. The applications weren't actually due until September, so screening wouldn't be excessively late if they do it in Oct. The job itself doesn't start until January. So it's kind of a outside chance job. We'll see what happens.

I got your message about the checkout sheet but Idiothoo wouldn't let me reply directly to your email. Do you still need it?

Yeah, if you'd let me borrow it - are you at home tonight? I could run over and grab it from you.

actually, I am home tonight, but as it's rather late--if you remind me where you live I could run it over tomorrow?

I assume the "M" in MSU is Minnesota?

Oh, and Powells rocks. Best bookstore ever! And not just 'cause it's in Oregon!!!

Yup, that would be Minnesota, although it was Mankato when my parents went there back in the day. At least they didn't have to change their monogrammed materials.
