(Sirius had spent the last couple of days wandering around the ship, looking for any items that might resemble any of the products from Zonko's. It was a bit unsettling to know that there wasn't a joke shop on this ship. All the more reason why he had to find some supplies. At least it took his mind off the whole world blowing up thing.

And it's while he's on one of his hunts, lost in his thoughts of where he should go next, that he unknowingly gets a little too close to a temperamental sand Willow and gets a nice good whack to the face.)

Ow! (He spits out a bit of sand, his wand drawn and ready as he looks for the culprit.) Oy! What do you think you're--(And then he sees the tree, then the castle, and then he grins. To the tree:) Missed me that much, did you?

[Well this is extremely entertaining; her book shuts with a sharp snap and she's got to raise her voice a bit to be heard]

Muscle memory. Here it knows it was so glad to finally be rid of your rotten face and you have to go and show up again.

(Sirius looks over when he hears the familiar voice and casually stands, brushing himself off.)

More like a deep longing to touch my beautiful face again. After a year without it, no wonder it's feeling neglected! That was just its way of saying it missed me. A love tap! You should feel its hugs. They're bone crushing.

That can still be arranged, you know.

[she raises an eyebrow and tucks her wand behind her ear with a meaningful gesture.]

Out having a walk? What sort of mayhem have you wrought today?

No mayhem today, I'm afraid. Not yet, at least. Thought I'd get a bit of fresh air. Nothing like clean space air to clear the lungs and mind.

(He makes a small gesture towards the sand castle with his wand hand as a response to her own motion.)

I was just thinking about Hogwarts, actually. Funny how these things come about.

[she laughs out loud at the gesture and pulls her knees up, resting the book against her thighs and brushing all the sand from her calves. Sirius was, even at his most infuriating, at least always good for laugh.]

Feels like we've only just left, doesn't it? [she pats the sand next to her and shifts the rest of her books out of the way] Come have a seat then, if you aren't busy, I've been meaning to have a chat.

You have been meaning to have a chat with me? I'm touched! This is a new step in our lives, I'm not quite sure I'm ready to take it yet. (But he goes over anyway and takes the offered seat in the sand next to her.) All right, Evans, lay it on me. Can't say I'm very good with girl problems, but I suppose I could just nod my head and pretend to listen. Let's refrain from painting nails though, all right?

[Infuriating was definitely the right word. She rolls her eyes and flicks sand at him.]

You talk so much. Have you ever actually had a word with someone? Pretend to listen if you'd like, but I think it'd do you better to actually pay attention. It's about Remus.

(He turns his head a little bit to protect his face from the sand. When he looks at her again, any previous signs of joking have disappeared.)

What about him?

[she takes one of her great big werewolf books and thwaps him across the bicep with it.]

What do you mean, what about him? We're in space, his little problem isn't going to stay nice and monthly out here. Jupiter has over sixty moons, we've got to do something for him.

Ow! Be careful, would you? You don't have to hit so hard. It's bad enough those books look as if they weigh about a thousand pounds. (He rubs at his arm and examines it.) As for Moony, he's not exactly changing, now is he? And we're in space. Granted, that might have to do with the fact that we're in a spaceship, but if we're in space where there are loads of moons all around that haven't been affecting him, then maybe he's a bit safer here. Can't say the same about the planets, though. Do they say anything about it in that bloody book of yours? (He tilts his arm around to get a look at the back of it.) Merlin...I think I'm bruising.

You daft little -

[she tosses another book (with somewhat more force that necessary) at his chest, frowning, one red eyebrow hiked high]

We're parked planetside, not traveling. Remus and I discussed it and we think that means a lunar cycle - or at least, he seems convinced he can feel something. Moony's very worried, so I told him I'd worry for him, and I thought you would like to help him by helping me. This isn't like you lot running about in a great big forest once a month, you know - a spaceship is a closed space. He's quite right to be careful.

The problem is half the books on his condition are from other planets - they don't even apply to our understanding of it.

(Having been too preoccupied with the state of his somewhat bruised arm, the book to the chest takes him by surprise. And after a short, "umph!" he says a bit breathlessly:)

I'm aware of the situation, thanks very much. I'm also very much acquainted with the consequences, as they have been my worry for one day of each month for many years now. Not as much as Moony, of course, but...(He adjusts the book, placing it unceremoniously on the sand next to him.) Anyway, I'll help you, Evans, no question about that, but I can't do much if you bloody kill me first. (He glances at the other books she's gathered while rubbing his sore chest.)

Never thought I'd hear of another type. Still, there must be useful information somewhere on this ship. Have you read all of those, then?

You can start by dropping that mouth of yours, Black, I've already got one of your boyfriends, I don't need the other as well.

[Her eyes a bit more narrow, she reaches over him to collect the mistreated tome, dusting the sand from it.]

...Possibly I have. I have notes, but there's still more to read.

Don't know what you're talking about, Evans. But I never took you for a someone who needed more than one boyfriend. I'll have to keep that in mind.(He brushes some sand from his hands and then holds one out.)

Well, let's have a look at those notes, then. I can't help out if we're not all on the same page.

[she deposits three more volumes into his outstretched hand, the notes for each pressed beneath their covers.]

There's a list of things in that last one for places in the library that might be worth looking into. I thought I would even try to put a potion together or something, just to see if the theory holds - not to actually give to him or anything, not yet. I wonder if Harry had any of his spellbooks on him when he arrived -

[Harry...she sits up straighter, stretching her arms above her head and working the kinks out of her neck.]

Oh, that was the other I wanted to ask you about.
