[Germany entered the reception room looking forward to congratulating Miss Adler on an impeccable performance, and overall in a very good mood. It was nice, very nice, to see the work of one of his composers performed here in this very foreign place with so much enthusiasm and attention to detail. And, as Italy actually enjoyed such occasions and behaved properly at them, spending the evening out with him had just made his good mood even better.]

[Contrary to popular belief, Italy could very well behave when he wanted to! It just so happened that the occasions where he did came up so rarely that he may as well live life as a peculiarly loud bum with little to no work ethic]

[It's just easier that way]

[But tonight... tonight! Classy, yet fun! Something to savor!]

[Something else to savor: putting his arm through Germany's and getting nice and close]

Germany! Germany! Did you like it?

[It would be incorrect to say Germany doesn't notice Italy getting all up in his personal space, because he always notices Italy. Rather, it's more accurate to say that, while the touchy-feely PDA still makes him kind of uncomfortable, it also makes him feel kind of happy, too.]

Ja, I did. It was very well done. What did you think?

[From his extreme advantage of 8cm, he spots the hors'dourves table and starts walking them in that direction; he knows Italy will probably want to snack.]

[Without putting any real thought into it, Italy snuggles his head into Germany's shoulder]

I thought so too! Ve, the sets were crafted very nicely, and the singing was really good, too! It was really light-hearted at all the right parts. Oh! Oh! And, and, and...

[Italy happily prattles on while allowing Germany to shepherd him towards the hors'dourves.]

[And Germany, for once, is perfectly happy to listen to Italy prattle on. The evening is progressing so nicely; excellent entertainment, rich, almost decadent surroundings, and - Italy's head is on his shoulder Italy's head is on his shoulder - good company.]

[And good food, too, from the looks of things.]

Are you hungry?

Yessir!

Oooh! Lookit all of the fancy stuff. Ve, Austria would have a blast!

[He takes the moment to leave Germany's side (8() and starts... prodding away at a mound of caviar]

Heeeeeee~

Ja, probably. [He glances around to see if he can spot Austria - he knows the other nation was invited and this is the sort of thing he would have enjoyed, but his attention is quickly drawn back to Italy when he starts poking the caviar.]

Stop that.

[That giggle IS adorable but it won't work on Germany! ...Much!]

Maybe so, but it is for eating, not for poking.

[Well now he's busy sculpting it]

[It's pretty gross but the actual end product is gonna be nice]

Look! Look! It's a duck!

Yes, I see it. Please stop playing with the food, Italy.

[Clearly coming over to investigate the hors'dourves was a terrible idea.]

Here.

[There is a glass of champagne being practically shoved in Italy's face. Distraction tactic: commence!]

Oooh!

[Italy happily takes it!]

Hey, hey, do you have one too, Germany?

Ja, I have one too.

[He holds up his own champagne glass to show Italy, and then starts to lead him away from the caviar. B(]

[Italy follows like a good boy, although he waves happily back at the caviar cat in order to say good bye]

Germany, Germany. We should have a toast!
