This was so nice: a good story with puns, "Don't straighten out on my account, Ray,", plus porn! Delightful!

So very glad you enjoyed :-). I grew up with a hopelessly pun-addicted (real word escapes me at the moment) grandfather, so I never learned that puns are apparently the red-headed stepchildren of the humor world. I like them a lot - and it makes sense to me that RayK and Fraser, each in his own way a man of words, would at least find them difficult to resist.

Well, you had me at the title (Sondheim!!! Love that show!) And the story definitely lived up to the glee it inspired. Wonderful writing, really evoking the weight of the heat, and the weight of what Fraser wants but is afraid to ask for. Great voices, and the ending was just wow.

Eee, another Sondheim fan! I will confess to you that I don't think the story really fits the title - although there is a story somewhere in my brain that would - but that's what it wanted to be called, and who was I to argue? I will try to live up to it at some point :-s.

SO glad the story worked for you. That pleases me greatly. And really interesting point about the concept of weight, of heaviness. I love it when people pick things out of what I write that I didn't see when I was writing.

I've had that happen too, and just had to go with it. But in this case I like the fit - in the song they're both talking about what they want but not to each other, and focus on that. And that's lind of what's going on here, only then they DO (sort of) talk and have a better end result than George and Marie.

So yes, HUGE Sondheim fan - I could listen to his music forever, between Sunday and Into the Woods and West Side Story and Evening Primrose (guh!) and Dick Tracy and and and *happysigh*

Now I know what I'll be listenin gto later. :)

I totally want to talk Sondheim with you at BP now. Coffee and tuneage and lyrics!geekery some morning?

(Do you know - I bet you do - the score to Merrily We Roll Along? Wherein SS makes fun of himself, and also sort of of his critics?)

EVENING PRIMROSE. Now I know you're a Sondheim devotee.

EEK - I'm so late in responding to his - mea maxima culpa! I'm delighted that you enjoyed it - that makes me most happy - and especially do I love that you love Ray's pleasure-drunk logorrhea. Bless the man for his hyperverbal love, neh?
