[Bundled up against the chill weather, Irene came to stand outside the charming restaurant only a couple minutes

Perhaps a calculated risk. This need not be left to chance.

[With a gesture she beckons someone who is clearly wait-staff over to them.
After asking which drink and entrée received the most compliments from people such as themselves, the alien considered for a moment before taking Irene's menu and checking off two items.
With thanks and a nod she turns back to Une.]

It appears I am ready to order.

[Une hands the menu to the waiter, secure in her decision despite the gamble; Irene appeared to be the sort who liked taking chances while Une exercised due caution in almost everything? Mind games? Were they trying on each other's shoes for size?]

[Oh, not quite intentional mind games, but it is amusing. The Lady taking a risk within the safe confines of a menu, and Irene not.]

How very daring of you. I look forward to seeing what you ordered, as much as I look forward to seeing what was ordered for me.

I'm certain it won't be too bad. I requested special menus when I made the reservation. There shouldn't be any risk of me ordering anything that'll bring me to a nasty end.
