[Bundled up against the chill weather, Irene came to stand outside the charming restaurant only a couple minutes

Practical.

[just like her attire; she hadn't bothered to slip out of her uniform for this particular meal; granted she had left her jacket at the door but her well-knotted tie, in a rather severe dark green, still hung at her throat accentuating her crisply pressed dress shirt in a lighter shade; at least her short skirt added a feminine touch]

[All together a contrast to Irene's full-length dress. Although new, it was in the luxurious Victorian style that she favoured.]

Quite so. Practical.
That brings to mind, how did you fare with your occupation last month? [Because her love letters were exceedingly practical.]

Well enough. They appealed to the Vogon sensibilities. I found my niche market.

[Irene blinks in astonishment.]

That is indeed a very niche market. [And not exactly a compliment. But after a beat she shrugs slightly.]
I'm certain you will put such a unique skill to good use.
