Who: Tali, Garrus and Shepard. What: Briefing Tali on the Purists and such. When: Today! Early evening. Where: Garrus and Shepard's apartment. Warnings: No warnings.
He was way too comfortable slouched against the armrest of the couch, but when Shepard approached him, Garrus sat up straight and set his Guide down onto the table.
"That works really well actually," he agreed, having caught onto those visual cues in an instant, "I wanted to bring it up to her earlier, but the network isn't the most reliable."
What with everything that happened in just the past couple of weeks, Garrus could very well see why Shepard was on edge. The entire Normandy crew, even with their seasoned experience, started off each day with a healthy dose of paranoia. His mandibles flared at the familiar burst of anxiety that came with such thoughts.
"I take it she knows that you're a woman?"
...Yeah that was a bit of a weird question to ask.
A hint of amusement was present on her features as Garrus sat up straight, causing a brow to quirk. Shepard began to pace back and forth in the center of the room, her arms uncrossing. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing and plus, it's better to talk about that stuff in person."
Not to mention Shepard missed Tali and wished to greet her in person.
Shepard stopped her pacing once Garrus brought up the question of her being female and she rubbed at the back of her neck with a light sigh.
"I did. She didn't believe me at first, which I assumed would happen anyways but after twenty questions, I proved it was really me."
Okay so it wasn't really that many questions, but still. It made Shepard uncomfortable that there was a "male" of her floating out there somewhere.
It took a little longer than expected to find the room. Coordinates are one thing, but the path to get to them is another thing entirely. And this ship layout was weird. Also huge. Like an entire city, except in space.
Nonetheless, Tali eventually finds the room and, half excited to see friends okay in person, half nervous in speaking face-to-face with someone who both is and isn't her commander, knocks on the door twice before opening it.
Initially, Garrus stood so he could try and reassure his commander, but as Tali enters, his gaze shoots to the door. He immediately perks at hearing her shy, familiar voice, his mandibles flaring with elation. Aside from Shepard, Tali is the only other Normandy crew member that Garrus had any extended history with, and having her aboard was a relief. He'd grown protective during their time together, despite their rocky start, no thanks to his borderline pretentious goading.
However, he stays silent. Tali had addressed Shepard, and Garrus wasn't about to butt in.
Once Shepard hears the door open and that familiar voice speak, her blue eyes dart right over to Tali and a wide smile is present on her lips and in her eyes. Turning her body so Shepard was now facing Tali head-on, she took a couple steps towards the quarian.
"Tali! Did you have any problems finding the place?" Shepard tilts her head, her tone pitching a happy chord.

Well, not yet, anyway.
