Fox had disassembled the Arwing's laser canon, and had it and various other little parts laying around on a cluttered work bench. Before Wolf had magically vanished via wormhole, he'd been helping Fox out with upgrading his ship's weapons. By himself, he'd kind of hit a dead end and was getting pretty frustrated. He looked up when Garrus came in, ears perking in that happy puppy dog sort of way.
Of course, his expression was his usual default 'serious business'. He gave Garrus a nod.
"I said I would, didn't I?" Garrus nodded back, although he was considerably less serious business than his younger friend thanks to finally having a chance to do something semi-normal and, to the (for lack of a better word) nerdy turian, very enjoyable.
With that in mind, he surveyed the disaster in front of him and couldn't help but sigh.
Fox sighed and scratched his head, looking a bit baffled by the mess himself.
"Well, the plan was to take this laser canon here and incorporate it into my ship's weapon's system, but the guy that was helpin' me with is isn't here anymore, and I'm not really good at this kinda thing. So. Now it's just a spectacular mess."
"Spectacular is an understatement. It looks like this place was hit by a damn tornado."
With a shake of his head, Garrus didn't wait for any permission from Fox and immediately set to work. He gathered the parts strewn about the workbench and began sorting them accordingly, his surprisingly nimble fingers treating each of the tiny pieces with the care they deserved-- and apparently didn't get from Fox.
"Give me about ten minutes and I'll put everything back together for you. Then we can get to work on installation." his concentration fell almost solely on the mechanical puzzle before him, but Garrus still threw Fox the occasional glance.
"It looks like you've got some quality parts here, though. Nicely done."

"What the hell did you do, McCloud?"

Fox stepped aside while Garrus got to work, watching intently while trying to stay out of the way. "You do this sorta thing a lot?"
