"Back on the Normandy, Shepard entrusted me with working with the ship's cannon and a few other important electronics on board." Garrus answered, somewhat proudly, "Even before that, it was a big part of my job at C-Sec. It helps that it's something I really enjoy doing."
A few more twists of a wrist and what was once a pile of pieces became a full-fledged cannon component.
"If you think that's good, you should talk to a friend of mine," Garrus went straight to work on the next component, not missing a beat. "Her name's Tali. She's a quarian, which means that anything engineering related is pretty much written in her genes."
Garrus shrugged, "Hell, she'd probably be done with putting these parts together already."
He paused.
"Speaking of, remind me to take her down here so she can get a look at the ships. She'd probably appreciate the distraction."
"Ah? Someone else from your ship showed up? That's great! I'll be sure to remind you."
Fox couldn't help but be a little jealous. The only teammate of his that had shown up had vanished within a couple of months. Still, it was nice to know that Garrus' friends were showing up in one piece. He had to admit, this Normandy crew certainly was a colorful bunch so far.
"Yeah. It's been a while, so having someone else pop up is a relief."
Garrus isn't exactly the most perceptive when it comes to others' feelings, but his cop instincts helped him fathom what Fox was probably feeling at the moment. After all, ever since that mostly successful rescue mission, the only person from Fox's home Garrus had seen was Bill, which didn't bode well for anybody else from there. Tentatively, he breached the subject.
"What about this mechanic of yours? How good is he?"

"Not bad. You could give my mechanic a run for his money."
