[167] Rex is a man. With NEEEDS // Video

Sep 23, 2011 14:24

[Rex holds up some nerdy diagrams of the mechanical dragon he had in port, modified for, uh, compatibility with real physics and stuff. Or real for GI Joe's world of sinking ice ( Read more... )

ssssscience?, ana, rex is a terrible boyfriend, iago needs a tag, acting normal

Tell me your good news. [Oh god Rex, he wants good news. He wants it like you don't even known.]

My sister's here. [Pauuuse.] You can't tell anyone.

Your sister's here? [Yay! Ana's alive! Boo, this is kind of a secret that could go bad. That was sort of a steep and sudden roller-coaster loop. He keeps it out of his voice.]

She just returned earlier in the month. Right now, she's laying low.

Is Shego on either of those filters? gotgreenmagic September 23 2011, 19:43:48 UTC
...

Doesn't it, like, stop being a dragon when it's that small?

YUP, both. Edited to add her to the ~exclusive~ one stopthat_destro September 23 2011, 19:51:40 UTC
I don't think so. It could be a pygmy dragon.

If dragons existed, I'm sure they could breed down in size.

I guess. I dunno, 'dragon' conjures up something a little less pygmy and a little more... [She makes a vague 'really big' gesture with her hands.]

[Private]

So, go on. What's your news?

I always just think of a reptile that breathes fire.

My sister's come back. Which may not be the best news, since this is the Barge, but. [WELL, HE MISSED HER, WHATEVER.]

It is an elegant, if impractical design. [What *does* one do with a mechanical dragon the size of a sparrow. Although...add some surveillance equipment and it could be a nice little automated intelligence-gathering drone. He nearly mentions this but...it is probably bad to encourage inmates make spy equipment. Such a waste of talent, though.]

How can you miss being with women? They're all over the Barge. Your last warden was one. [Narvin has idiom/euphemism fail. And Rex's dancing around doesn't help. OOC: I assume it's okay for Narvin to respond, since they once talked about the power dynamics of sex? If not I can edit.]

Impractical, certainly. [Because he could totally whip up some sort of more efficient flying bot, BUT WOULD IT BE AS COOL LOOKING?] But thank you.

Um. [AWKWARD.] I don't think I could ever get involved with my own warden. Or former-- I mean. [Cough, then he speaks quickly and nervously.] In any case, it doesn't matter, because I'm in a committed relationship.

[Pause as Rex's meaning finally hits him.]

Oh. You mean... ...oh. [And now Narvin's feeling awkward, too.]

You could design a personal holographic projector to make Iago essentially a woman for an evening. [Narvin is trying (badly) to be helpful. Although Rex designing the device probably wouldn't be too hard if he got the right materials. Convincing Iago to use it on the other hand...]

[BEST ADVICE EVERRRRR.]

That would end badly. And loudly. He... has issues with women.

A practical model is unnecessary. It contains numerous structural flaws.

It would also be incapable of flight.

Only if lift were attempted through flapping. A small air propulsion device could provide lift enough to allow it to rise: the intermittent force of the wings could be used to steer.

(Science bros before homicidal ro's!)

The wings would not provide sufficient aerodynamic stability. Alternative forms of propulsion are not inherent in the supplied schematics.

Given the ability of light alloy and advanced servos, the flight dynamics of similarly sized raptors could be utilized and a small air compressor is a negligible addition.

My sister's here. It's... a secret until she decides to announce herself.

Yeah, of course. Nobody will hear it from me.

[Pause. Teasing:]

I knew you missed her.

[He tried to refute that in the past and she never bought it. YOU CAN'T NOT MISS YOUR FAMILY, THAT'S CRAZY TALK]

[TEASING? FROM AMANDA?]

And here I thought I hid it well.
