Not so much is new. I just wanted to try out a new icon...

I should have some new art (or at least a mostly-finished preview of a pic) by the end of memorial day weekend.

I'm slowly regaining my ability to jump, but pre-test (in early june) will still be very difficult, and I may need to sit out of quite a few things *shrug*

Ah.. there's nothing quite like doing a 2 day, 8 hrs/day martial arts seminar when you still have poison ivy hives and when the toe recovery still restricts any jumping or rapid foot twisting. i guess, by the inflamed, oozing blisters on my arm, that we somehow managed to get some poison ivy growing in our backyard. Gardening/landscaping tomorrow is going to be a real joy. Damn itchy arms....

if any of you are curious (and I just found this disturbing image today)...

This is what was done to my foot (with the cutting on the second joint of the big toe).

The bandages and dressings were removed today, and at least I can finally take a real shower again (although I have to wait a week still before I can immerse my foot in water). Unfortunately, it will still be another 3 weeks before I'm really allowed to use my feet much (i.e., I can only walk *carefully* for the next three weeks or so wearing very ( Read more... )

I just returned home from the surgery an hour ago or so. Everything seemed to go well, and I'm not really in much pain (although I'm sure it'll swell up pretty terribly this evening and tomorrow). At least, I am taking the next 3 days off from work, so I can sit back, elevate the foot, and play video games/watch movies. ;) On the down side, I'm ( Read more... )

The good news is that I'm finally having my toe fixed, and hopefully, it will no longer be holding me back... The bad news is that I need surgery to do so. I have the surgery appointment set for next tuesday, and hopefully, the recovery time won't be too awful.
