My thoughts are pretty much the same as yours, I'm guessing. I've already started downloading fanfics and e-texts of novels onto my Palm Pilot for convenience reading, and its a wonderful thing.

But remember - even in the Star Trek world, people still read some paper bound books.

I can see myself ending up with so many duplicate copies of things (electronic and paper). I would LOVE something like that for flights or long road trips, though. Having my entire library in my purse? That would rock.

But I just can't imagine ever wanting to curl up in front of the fire place with hot cocoa and a computer.

Oooh - I love my books, truly madly deeply, but as often as I travel and end up storing most of my books (I'm only taking SIX BOOKS to London with me! Maybe seven... or eight... damn), this would be beyond awesome. I'd still have the aesthetic of books for future use when I'm more settled, but the accessibility of having the material available to peruse while I'm elsewhere. That would be pretty spiffy.

Stoopid. I've read my fair share of stuff on a computer screen and it is a total relief to have a book in my hands. I can't imagine using it. Maybe I'm just a purist.
