Still playing with string!
Six months after I finally learned to knit, I am still enjoying the hobby very much. (I have also learned that knitting can take over my world and become a Lifestyle. Hmmm. Useful closet organization advice from the Fashion Police (Me!):
There is no sense in defining your size or organizing your wardrobe by the sizes the Manufacturing folk use on labels!! If you tend to gain and lose weight, separate your pants wardrobe into THREE size ranges, NOT by manufacturer tags, but by how/when they actually fit you, and then LABEL them S-M-L with permanent marker on the waist tag. I SAW A WILD OCTOPUS!!
I was sitting on a rock out in the ocean (channeling the Little Mermaid), and as a wave washed over my rock something liquidy and dark Zoooshed towards me and I sort of screamed (because I couldn't exactly dodge without falling off rock) but then it suddenly stopped and did the octopus version of "Oh CRAP -- Human!!" which is find the nearest nook ( Read more... ) -

Define "Normal morning"
It is a normal sort of morning -- one of the good normal mornings, that is. I am sitting in bed listening to Sapolsky's "Molecular Biology II" lecture while eating Spam and eggs and folding squares of colored paper into whimsical little animal shapes. Hummingbirds!
There are hummingbirds here! I love hummingbirds. They have such round, soft-looking bodies -- I want to hold one. So, I was swimming in "the lake" yesterday afternoon...
...because Kayden had the day off, we wanted to go swimming, darn it, and both of our community pools were closed for maintenance. "The lake" was nearest water available.
