the bourne movie.

good stuff. i love all the movies. but my first thought after the movie was over was "man, someone should start a fucking production company and just do lower-cost animated adaptations of novels. because i would rather see a cartoon-but-unabridged version of the ACTUAL bourne identity, supremacy and ultimatum than the matt-damon-knows-kung-fu ( Read more... )

I CONCUR, GOOD SIR!

You'd almost have to animate it, and let it run for three or four seasons just to get it all in.
Although I would love to see a multi-million dollar live-action Foundation of the screen somehow... although there isn't really a whole lot of "action" in the books, so whatever.

there'd have to be a LOT of voiceover and narration... but that would be awesome.

or an unabridged, animated hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy with douglas adams' voice as the narrator and the guide. he did the audiobooks, so the fact that he's dead wouldn't be such a problem.

i need to unexpectedly come into an obscene amount of money.

one of the problems a Foundation movie might face is younger folks looking at the depiction of Trantor and saying "hey, that's just a copy of Coruscant, they're ripping off Lucas!", and forcing me to steal a tank and run them all over for their ignorance.

we want to see ultimatum in the theater so we went out and bought identity and supremacy. both were really good, but i kept thinking about your assertion that they're just a pale shadow of the books. now i want to read the books.

i saw on amazon that there's also "the bourne betrayal" and "the bourne legacy." is that all of them or are there more? and where do those two fit in with the other three?

i now regard you as the bourne expert.

the betrayal and legacy books were written by some other guy, after robert ludlum died. i haven't read them, but i haven't heard anything good about either of them. i have the e-book version of the bourne betrayal, so i'll probably check it out at some point, but i'm in no hurry for that one.

you should totally read the robert ludlum books. they have SUCH a different tone than the movies. and you will be amazed at some of the changes that they made to the characters. the first book is just slightly related to the first movie, and they get more and more different with each sequel.
