So I wonder if the Noldor really did have eyes that glowed with light, or if it's a metaphor?

For scenes like this, I imagine how ridiculously overpowered Legolas was in the Peter Jackson movies' battle scenes; then picture an entire army of elves who are even more over the top badasses...

By my calculations, Fëanor probably has about 10,000 warriors in his army at this point. (How many civilians he has following him is more of a moot point!)

I wonder if the Sindar realised that their language had changed from Quenya to Sindarin during the 3000 years or so they were separated from the other Eldar, or if they assumed they were still speaking Quenya?

Realistically, Elenwë was probably trapped beneath an overturned ice floe or something like that, but that would be hard to draw.

Elves have limited powers of telepathy (ósanwë) especially between spouses or close family or friends. Useful if you're underwater.
