The killer mix cd

Mar 05, 2006 01:06

So as for the mix cd, here's the track listing -- I made it as sort of a catch-all best of thing that I could feel good about giving to almost anyone (although I'd fine tune it a bit, in this case it has a bit of girl pop that I would probably replace with other stuff depending on who I gave it to ( Read more... )

Nah, I don't care for Hard-Fi very much. I liked Cash Machine there for a bit, but now it doesn't do a lot for me.

Can you give me the Al Green and Iggy Pop?

Also the Replacements are indie. They happened to have the one song but how long ago was that?

Thirdly I love the Gacy song, heheeh, if you block out the words it can be quite soothing ;)

The Gacy song is good, but I have it on a different cd that I didn't entirely end up finishing (it was my creepy song cd, HEh, and that fit the mood pretty well).

The "oh my god" part always gets me (which I'm sure it's meant to).

Im going to have to check out some on that list. With the exception of Robyn ;)

That Gacy song is quite haunting, not to mention the line about the swing which shows they did their research. Also the song about his 1st love dying of cancer, the horn section at the end of that makes my hair stand on end.

And since you are always introducing me to music Im hoping maybe you havent heard this one album: Neutral Milk Hotel. I have no words for how good that album is and it pains me to know there will never be another one.

You win, then -- I've heard of them, but if I've heard them, I don't remember it. When I've heard the name, tho, it's been linked to some bands I like (The Decemberists were pretty heavily compared, I seem to recall). I'll have to check it out.

Also I finally heard an Arcade Fire song that I kinda dug, I dunno if it just hit me in the right situation or what but I enjoyed it (after struggling a few times before). And now I realize that it's Tunnels which was the big song and I'm not that special after all.

Hm, I've heard one song by them, Engine. It's good, but I got it from an mp3 blog that kinda put it in context with the rest of their work, so maybe I'm missing a lot by not having the background on it. It's a good song tho.

Also hilarious is that you reject Robyn out of hand but accept Puffy AmiYumi without blinking. ;)
