It's what I love about Clark. No matter how he fails, he'll always come back because something in him needs to correct things, to make it all right again. His sense of right and wrong and how it all connects is so strong, I love playing at trying to knock it down just to see how he reacts.

One thought I had was - would Lex Luthor of later years really pull the trigger? Wouldn't he have someone else do his dirty work for him? Unless he had some personal vengeance against the guy, in which case, I would love to know more. *g*
Clark’s life has been measured in heartbeats. He was too slow to save Chloe from falling out of the window in the mansion, the pace of his heart a frantic thumping in his chest as he watched wide eyes and a startled “o” of a mouth disappear into black through shattered colored glass.
What a gorgeous paragraph!!

Actually, this gave me pause too. So there will be more -- as soon as my little fingers can catch up to what my brain is churning out.

I love the pacing of the story, I love how it seemed sort of light and slowly became dark in a way that almost fools you, by the time you realize that this is *not* going to lighten up again, you're pulled in all the way--standing there like an observer at an accident.
Oh dear-- that might not sound like it, but I loved this story very much. Thank you for sharing it.

What I love about this relationship is that there will always be unanswered questions and secrets that they're just too stubborn to let go of. Pride cometh before the fall and both of them are so damn prideful.
It actually hurt to write, so why I'm writing a sequel, I have no idea.

You KNOW how crazy I am over this story...so it's just so fantastic to see everyone else's reactions to it as well!
