Car troubles.

This afternoon we were on our way to the in-laws for a huge 4th of July family get-together and that’s when things took a crazy turn! Just to preface, we are all okay and no one was hurt. We were only twenty miles out of town when some chunk of something in the road hit the underside of the car. We got it off the road thinking a tire might have

By the way, as it's a road hazard that damaged your car, the state itself is liable. Talk to the insurance company about it; they will probably take care of the details of going after the state, if you bring it up. If you don't, they'll ignore it in all likelihood.

Hope that the holiday wasn't entirely ruined by your ordeals. I'm very glad that you unharmed and that the car will be repaired. Hang in there, document everything and keep file it for future useful purposes.
