I was intrigued by the debate spurred on by the last entry, in which Magdelena wrote, "Bush won. Strife."

Now, as we all know, Magdelena's life is a vortex of pain and misery.

However, would Magdelena's life have been more, less, or equally strife-filled had Kerry been elected?

Discuss.

well, then my opinion is that she should not be any more filled with strife then usual. Unless said imaginary boyfriend gets drafted.

the differences between the two candidates in the most recent American election were, at best, negligible. Kerry would have still advanced the neoconservative agenda, and pandered to Christian fundamentalists, thus providing much strife. He would, however, have done so in an ambiguous, Clinton-esque fashion.

Bush, on the other hand, will do so in a more open and direct manner.

Who can tell?

All solid political arguments aside, the best strifemonger can find strife even in the midst of Care Bears and their tasty fruit snack counterparts. That's what makes them so hilarious.

He was strife ridden in terms of the other Care Bears, but he's still a big fuzzy blue bear and thus 5000x more cheerful than anything on Earth.

I think that despite what would have happened in regard to foreign policy, there is no way Kerry would have advanced the biblesucker's (read: Christian fundamentalist) agenda in the way that Bush will.

A president that believes that the government has the right to legislate marriage; a president that believes that homosexuality (something practiced by every species of life on the planet, humans included) is wrong and unnatural; a president that suppresses the rights of the mother in favor of those of the unborn child (i.e. one that is against abortion) - this is a president that we do not need.

Not that Kerry was a godsend. But, he's not Bush.

Strife, indeed.
