There is not much that much I can say about King Kong that has not already been said. You either liked it or thought it was too long or liked it but thought it was too long, or just thought it was stupid

Don't forget that, like War of the Worlds, it's a remake of a classic film. Many of the elements of the older film style were retained to maintain a certain level of "authenticity" for lack of a better word.
yeah man... a movie about halo = the coolest thing ever (as long as they keep the scope of the movie to the first game, and possiblemente a little before, to the fall of Reach or whatever)
the last line was the last line in the original. its kind of an homage to the first movie.
i personally thought the acting was pretty good. I mean, you can't do much about the story because at its core its a giant monster movie. But the I felt the acting was for the most part above par, especially with Namoi Watts. For a movie where she had to act with a giant CGI partner, she did a very believable job that could have been really really cheesy otherwise. i think the only thing separating performances in LOTR and King Kong was the opportunity for the actors to really have good dramatic scenes, so they were limited more by the story then anything else.
That's very true, it isn't very easy to act well along side a CGI gorilla. And you're right, the story was what it was. I was wondering what if the ending line was the same in the original... There was just something about Jack Black saying it that seemed silly to me. Overall though, I'd say I enjoyed the movie. ....mainly.... King Kong flicking naomi watts = sweet Kong playing with a T-Rex like a puppet = sweet
igor u are a freakin' genius. I say this because what u just wrote is exactly what i was thinking. my god, you are brilliant to post this. in addition, that last line had me on the floor laughing. well actually i couldn't do that in the theatre but u can bet that i wanted to. it was EXTREMELY cheesy. nick told me that it was suppose to be that way but gosh, there were some parts where i was just like "wow can u please shut up now?" yea so anywaz, just wanted to tell u that u have a brilliant mind quite similar to my own :) yay for us.
