that little girl was so damn perfect for rue. she was so cute and she and katniss were adorable, and the scene where she dies is so heartbreaking. ;_____________ ( ... )

RIGHT? I didn't think I could get sadder about Rue's death and then I did and then on top of it I'm sad that the actress won't be in the next movie ( ... )

lol i totally forgot i didn't actually reply to this except in my head. that happens too often to me. /o\

I am so ridiculously sad that Gale apparently becomes a douche in the next books, because I love him in the first one. ;_____; Although who knows, maybe I'll go against the fandom grain and still like him. I guess I should get that next book already.

ASH IS THERE KATNISS/CINNA FIC? PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS KATNISS/CINNA.

See, the things was, there wasn't really anything where I was like, "oh I wish they'd done that different," or, "oh I wish they'd included that." Basically, I was happy with how they chose to show everything and I was on board with any changes they made from the book. Which really weren't that many, and they really kept to the tone of the book.

Inorite?? I honestly am pretty impressed, just because I've never 100% agreed with a movie adaptation, but I am wholeheartedly on board with everything they did in this one.

Huh, I never thought of it like that. Although I can definitely see it, with the way it just works so well on screen.

It really was. I am for sure going to see it again.

Oh, I didn't know that about her! I don't now very much about TV or movie writing, but I think I see where you're coming from. She definitely has a style that I personally don't see all that often in published books.

I admit, I'm not completely crazy about the movie. I thought it was good, and a great adaptation for what it was, but it lacked a lot of the emotional resonance with me. I think because with the tight POV in the books, the emotional urgency was more immediate for me. While Jennifer Lawrence did a fantastic job, I feel like I didn't get immersed in Katniss' confusion and anger and despair. Don't get me wrong, I sobbed like a baby during Rue's death, but I had my heart in my throat through the entire book series. Not as much with the movie.

I guess that's one of the drawbacks to adapting a first person pov book to movie. So much of it comes from what a person is thinking that you just can't get across in dialogue or acting. You definitely get to know Katniss better in the books and have a better idea of what all emotions she's experiencing, but on the flipside, I also really liked seeing the glimpses of what other people were doing in the movie.
