The roof access ladder had it's lowest rung some 20 feet off the ground.

"Okay, let's get up this ladder. Who needs a boost?"

Pippi lead the way to a vent which she opened and started to crawl inside.

The mall wasn't as lit up as it was when customers were there, but all the accent lights for the trees and fixtures were on. Or rather they were.

As Pippi's feet were swallowed up by the vent, all the lights in the mall went out. The only illumination came through the skylights above.

"That would be the signal from Walter or Mack that the cameras are down." Pippi's pleased voice came from inside the vent.

"Let's meet up with them."
