Zombies went tumbling back into other Zombies and chairs. It's really turning into quite a mess. Won't somebody think of the poor custodial staff?

Somewhere nearby the screams of a currently alive (but probably not for long) man can be heard.

At this point, Jake was thinking rather more about the difficulty of cleaning himself after this, than he was the mall.

He wouldn't have to smell the mall for the next couple of weeks.

The best move for the moment, as far as Jake could tell, was to just keep moving. Legless zombies weren't exactly the fastest things in the world.

In the middle of the food court was a large hole in the floor a hand reached up out of it. As if somebody was trying to climb up.

Funnily enough, that didn't look much like the hand of a zombie.

And anyhow, you couldn't expect Jake not to investigate a big gaping hole in the ground.

It was not a zombie climbing out of the hole as it turns out. It was a Pippi.

"Hi Jake! Found it!" she said grinning up at him.

Below her came more screams and a strange keening noise.

Infinitely better than a zombie.

"Nicely done." Jake shot her a relieved grin back and offered a hand if she wanted the help getting up.

He was conveniently choosing to ignore the creepy noises.

Pippi takes the offer and pulls herself out of the hole.

She is also ignoring the creepy noises.

She has some kind of a walky-talky into which she makes an announcement and then tosses it over her shoulder back into the hole.

"Before we go, would you like to help me handwavy blow this place up?

"Like, literally blow it up?" Jake asked. Well, that would definitely save on the cleaning costs.

"Guess not," Jake allowed with a nod at Pippi. "Never had to kill a bunch of zombies before."

"... Never blown up a mall before, either," he said, grinning brightly.
