are you having a problem getting on to gmail's home page? cuz it has refused to load to my computer since the 1.06 version upgrade (on july 29). help is needed, because it is my PRIMARY email, right now. or, if not help, just a sign that other people are experiencing the same problem, so i know that they are aware of it.

thanks.

I'm not having any problems. What problems are you having? Gimme the symptoms and I'll see if I can't find some suggestions, and failing that I'll email their support for you.

the gmail.com website will simply not load on my browser. i've tried "shift+refresh." i've tried adjusting my security level, and that's not working either.

So the spinner (the little icon usually in the upper right that animates while web pages load) just goes, screen remains white, nothing at all appears? Odd. I can't find any mention of that as an error. Have you tried clearing your cache? You can do that in IE by going into the Tools menu, hitting the "Internet Options..." item, and clicking the Delete Cookies... and Delete Files... buttons.

Nope.

I don't know what platform you are on but you have options with regards to browser (altho I think gmail compatability on Mac is limited to Safari). If it's a problem with your host, you can use Tor and Privoxy to connect via another IP.

If you refuse to use another browser, you could uninstall and reinstall whatever one you are using unless it's IE under Windows in which case you really should be using another browser.

just tried downloading mozilla, and it won't connect me AT ALL in the browser.
is there another one you reccomend? i installed mozilla under "standard settings," and it won't even bring up a home page.

So, you're on Windows?

I'd recommend Firefox but it uses Mozilla so, if Mozilla isn't working for you, Firefox isn't likely to fare much better. Your only other real option under Windows is Opera.

Your OS installation could be hosed. Like, there might be something wrong with your TCP/IP stack. You may have to reinstall Windows.

Of course, you could download Knoppix, burn it to a cd and boot from that. It's this awesome Linux distro. If all you need to do is be able to check your email, provided you have known hardware (it auto detects and configures everything), you should be able to boot into KDE and then just go to gmail via Konqueror (the KDE web browser) whose icon resides on the desktop.
