i got one of those letters two weeks before I was supposed to graduate, but it was the university's mistake, thank gods.
incidentally, it was freshman english for me too! turns out they'd never gotten my AP test scores saying i was too smart for that shit.
it's probably the only thing scarier than what you just went through. congrats on having the good sense to check!
plus, if your teacher won't let a few tardies slide because of a broken limb, she has serious problems. let us all feel sorry for her and her stupid little head for a moment.

- i never understood poetry assignments. poetry is a creative process, not an algebraic equation.

I was *thisclose* to writing one of my odes to my favorite weed, but then it occurred to me that, my professional life approaching at rapid speed, that may be something I don't necessarily want to advertise as much anymore.

And in her defense, she never grades the poems for that exact reason, but it still petrified me to try and write one. =P Oh well, guess I'm not as good with words as I thought...
