Have written something bizarre and ficletty. Hope you like it. Doubt you will. Was bitten by a very strange plot-bunny. Bastard.

Title: Alarm
Pairing: Gen (I know! Read it anyway...)
Rating: Um...you decide. PG-13?

Not a light-hearted ficlet. While I agree that people might respond so negatively, I would like to believe that many would stand up or not listen to the foolishness. However, I cannot argue with the mass hysteria can I? Very nicely presented topic.

Why, thank you! I'm glad you thought it was ok. I was a bit worried about it, actually. It dallies a bit close to the bizarre. Did I just say 'dallies'? *worries about self*

YES!!! HAHA! I always loved the idea of what exactly might happen when muggles disovered the existence of wizards. Great fic. The style seems a little different, the diction is a little more mature or...maybe not and I'm just going insane...

PS

This is the old "redfest" I changed my lj cuz my some old aquaintances found it so...yeah

Oh, hey! I wondered where you'd gone! So what happened? One of my friends found my Lj too but luckily she was a slash convert so all was well.

I'm glad you liked the fic, love, thanks for commenting. I'm maturing? When did that happen? *winks*

Wow...that was heavy. Intriguing, but heavy. I'm actually not sure how I feel. You kind of shocked the hell out of me. For better or for worse. So, hurrah! Because, it's rare to find these sorts of fics around.

Aw, thanks! I really appreciate the commenting, it means a lot. Hey, at least I got a reaction, which is what the plot bunny wanted. *pays homage to geat god of bunnies*

Jeez... abundantfear September 29 2004, 19:05:52 UTC
It really makes you think - doesn't it?
I mean, people of today pride themselves on their diversity and their ability to accept different cultures and religions. Nations pride themselves on learning from the past and being "tolerable". But are we really? Has civilisation really changed that much?
People have a nasty habit of fearing what they don't know or understand. And this fear leads to a severe lack of common sense. People do stupid things when they're ignorant and afraid.
It really makes you think - doesn't it?

Ack, have I inspired philosophical thought? Your review certainly made me think because when writing the story I didn't dwell too much upon the reality of the situation but if you apply it to today's climate then i suppose it's a little close to home. I'm not sure just how tolerant we really are but I don't think we'll know until something comes up to test that, and then we'll go one of two ways, liberalist or fundamentalist. I think fear's at the heart of hysteria, yes. I wonder what would really happen...

Thank you very much! I love it when people review for me, and I'm really glad that it wasn't too bizarre or niggly. (Why don't more people use that word? It really is a shame). Dude, I read slash all the time too! Believe me, this was serious branching out!
